Monitor vendor works on obtaining global recycling certifications and focuses on power management components in its product line

AOC looks for market share with greener technology

Monitors vendor, AOC, has highlighted the use of green technology as a way to increase its local market share.

Although recognising the market was tough at present, general manager for Asia-Pacific, Ray Zhuo, said the vendor hoped to achieve double-digit growth and improve its reach in Australia this year.

“Our business partners are important to our branding,” he said. “We’ll be leveraging them to increase our sales network and raise awareness. From a product point of view, the consumer market is looking for fashionable design and green credentials.”

Zhuo said the vendor was looking at a number of different ways to “green” its technology.

“We’re looking at power management components in our monitors, and we’ll be getting certification from some global organisations around recycling – our products will all be recyclable,” he said. AOC is in the process of gaining global recycling certifications now.

In April, AOC will also release a monitor model that promises 50 per cent greater power savings.

Zhuo said areas such as India, the Middle East and China are growing regions, while the vendor experienced 30 per revenue growth in Australia in the last year.

“The LCD market is still evolving here, as there are a lot of new products coming into it,” he said.
